We have 3 registered Counsellors at Birmingham Holistic Health Centre
Lorna Gray IHBC IIHHT DIP. MGBT
People have always found me easy to talk to and opened up to me, so some years ago I decided to train as a Counsellor and discovered a huge amount about people and myself along the way.
I have worked with the carer’s association, in a mental health rehabilitation centre and within the NHS, offering Counselling to a variety of client issues including stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, phobia’s,OCD, lack of confidence, low self esteem, bereavement and body image issues.
I have also additional training and experience with working with bereavement and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I previously worked at Birmingham Holistic health Centre with my own private clients and was one of the original associates and am glad to be here back again in private practice and running the Training School.
My Counselling is a Humanistic approach combining Person-Centred and Gestalt with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT). I find this integrative method just flows where it needs to and adjusts with the client.
As with all therapy, confidentiality is of most importance and clients are supported in a safe environment throughout their therapeutic journey.
I am also trained in Creative Visualisation and offer workshops and one-to-one sessions which are deeply relaxing and powerful. I am so happy to be back working at Birmingham Holistic Health Centre as it offers a calming environment within beautiful natural surroundings which is ideal for therapeutic work as assists both the therapist and the client to feel relaxed before and during and after the session.
I look forward to meeting you at our centre and helping you to grow and heal and to become the person you are meant to be.

Sandra Wathall (MBACP) – Counsellor and EFT Practitioner
As a professional counsellor my aim is to provide a safe, nurturing space for you to explore whatever is troubling you. No concern is too big or too small, if it is getting in the way of you living the life you want, then it matters.
I am trained in Integrative Counselling, which means I draw on and combine elements of various approaches dependent upon your individual needs. I also incorporate creative activities when appropriate, which may include writing, drawing, visualisation and relaxation exercises. Together we would agree on what would be most helpful.
These are some of the reasons people have come to see me:
- Relationship problems /Domestic abuse
- Stress/anxiety / Grief/Bereavement
- Low mood/depression /Problems at work
- Childhood abuse / Problems with anger
- Sexual abuse / Major life changes
Often, there are a combination of factors which can leave one feeling overwhelmed and unable to see a way through. Gently, together, we can untangle your difficulties and find ways of supporting you to work towards the change you want.
Emotional Freedom Technique
This is a gentle way of releasing ourselves from stuck emotions or patterns of behaviour/thought. By skilful focussing on the issues concerned and then guided tapping using one’s own fingertips, tapping on specific parts of the head and upper body, it is possible to find release and freedom from fears and phobias and deep emotional wounds that limit us.
I can provide this as a stand alone therapy or incorporated into counselling sessions.
