The NEW National Health Service could be A Natural Health System – IBS relief

Anyone who has waited for a Doctors appointment or waited in line for a hospital appointment and then when it does arrive, that is just the beginning of a long process that may or may not help the condition you have, understands how frustrating the current system actually is.

Each month or so I will be writing an article on how we could all take  fanatical pressure off the National Health Service by introducing you to the idea that a NEW NHS could be a Natural Health System as it seems obvious to me that this is the best way forward

So please share these articles and together we can make a difference, after all , wasn’t that why the NHS began ?

Burden of irritable bowel syndrome in the NHS

It has been calculated that each consulting IBS patient costs the NHS £90 per year. In the UK, given the incidence of new cases, the overall number of consultations probably reaches 240,000 per year. This translates into an annual cost to the NHS of about £22 million.

The NEW NHS could be a Natural Health System and we can provide the evidence of why we believe this.

For the remaining weeks of December 2018 and for the whole of January 2019 I will be offering either a reflexology or aromatherapy session and this will include a FREE pack of Bio- Kult 30 capsules on your first session

We know that these therapies have a relaxing effect which eases the digestive system, but let us tell you more.

In the UK alone as many as 8 million of us suffer with this chronic condition.

We also use a safe and convenient IBS treatment that is capable of reducing pain by nearly 70%, not to mention completely resolving symptoms in more than a third of patients, demonstrates a profound benefit and holds great promise for this major medical concern”

In the study of 360 patients who had IBS with diarrhoea as their predominant symptom (IBS-D); those patients who took the probiotic supplement Bio-Kult® reported a 69 per cent decrease in abdominal pain, compared to 47 per cent in a group who took a placebo.

The four-month study conducted by the University of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka, Bangladesh also found the number of patients who rated their symptoms as moderate to severe at the beginning of the study was reduced by 86 per cent in the Bio-Kult® group, compared to only 52 per cent in those who took a placebo.

Significantly though, as well as relieving IBS-D symptoms, Bio-Kult® was also shown to markedly improve all aspects of Quality of Life (QoL) evaluated using as 34 point IBS-QoL questionnaire. These included psychological issues such as anxiety about health, depression, lack of enjoyment of life, and feelings of having to avoid stressful situations.

A total of 33.7 per cent in the Bio-Kult® group said all their symptoms had disappeared at the end of the 16 weeks compared to just 12.8 per cent in the placebo group.

Dr Philip Burnet, Associate Professor at Oxford University, a leading UK expert on the gut microbiome/ brain axis, says that although several symptoms within the IBS-QoL survey in the study were significantly improved after taking probiotic supplements the reduction in dysphoria (unease or generalised dissatisfaction), and health worries were particularly noteworthy.
